Campers

Camping along the Haute Route is completely possible, but there are a number of large protected areas that camping isn’t allowed. Our camping itineraries comply with the protected area locations, allowing you to feel confident in your sleeping location. We have a variety of itineraries that caters for those that prefer wild camping (aka no facilities) and those that like to sleep in a tent but also enjoy the luxury of a hot shower and toilet.

We have created 3 itineraries for Campers:

  • 10 Day (Camping All Nights): When campsites with amenities are available these have been selected, otherwise wild camping areas (compliant with protected nature/game reserves) are recommended.

  • 11 Day (Camping Most Nights): This “speedy” itinerary combines camping and staying in mountain huts along the Haute Route trail. All campsites in this itinerary are privately run, offering hot showers, toilets and have supermarkets/restaurants nearby. The mountain huts offer dormitory or small room options (depending on your preference).

  • 12 Day (Camping Most Nights): This “steady” itinerary combines camping and staying in mountain huts along the Haute Route trail. All campsites in this itinerary are privately run, offering hot showers, toilets and have supermarkets/restaurants nearby. The mountain huts offer dormitory or small room options (depending on your preference).

**Note: Due to the closure of a section on the Europaweg Trail, a detour has been incorporated into all impacted itineraries.
