Custom Mobile Map
Custom Mobile Map
Do you already have a hiking plan but need on-trail navigation? We can build you a customised mobile map that follows the route you’ve already determined.
Using our database with over 1,500 GPS coordinates of trails and places of interest, we can create comprehensive Haute Route mobile trail maps, that can be used offline on any Android or Apple smartphone, removing the need for cell reception or a physical map.
Custom built mobile map that matches your Haute Route itinerary
A Haute Route map is necessary for self-guiding the trail. This is because it is not marked on any of the trail signs along the journey from Chamonix to Zermatt. There are plenty of yellow trail signs that estimate time to different points of interest, including villages, cols and huts. However, it requires you to always know the next place of interest on your route.
I’ve created a mobile trail map of the Haute Route that works offline, providing hikers their exact location in relation to the trail. This gives hikers clear direction on the right trail at any confusing junction or path. It works the same way you would use Google maps in urban areas.
Over the past 2 years, I've recorded 1,000s of GPS coordinates resulting in a comprehensive Haute Route mobile trail map, that can be used on any Android or Apple smartphone.
Because the mobile map uses the GPS function on your smartphone, it uses satellites to identify your location on the map rather than an internet or cell signal. This is perfect for international travellers that choose not to buy a local sim or activate a data roaming package when hiking the Haute Route.
This package is only for those hiking in the Chamonix > Zermatt direction
While the shortest route is 174km (108mi), I’ve mapped trails that combine for a total distance of just under 400km (250mi) which includes popular highlights along the way. If you are including side trips or sections which you haven’t read about on my homepage, I may not be able to build you a custom map.
The custom maps are for Haute Route hiking trails (which stay below 3,000m), not ski-touring or mountaineering trails
If you’re not sure if your route follows hiking trails or includes sections I can support, check with me: email@example.com
HOW WILL THE PROCESS WORK?
Once you purchase this package, you’ll receive immediate access to a planning portal.
