This itinerary is targeted to those that would like to combine camping and staying in mountain huts along the Haute Route trail. All campsites in this itinerary are privately run, offering hot showers, toilets and have supermarkets/restaurants nearby. The mountain huts offer dormitory or small room options (depending on your preference).

This itinerary suitable for the steady hiker - those that enjoy the balance of a challenging day on the trails without feeling rushed. With an elevation change of up to 3,061 m / 9,895 ft on the biggest day, these hikers can fire the engine up when required, but happy to spend most of the time in cruise control on as they complete a respectable daily average of 17 km / 11 mi.

  • Sentier Trail: Amazing balcony trail above the Bagnes Valley with views of the Grand Combin Massif where the original Haute Route ski tour crosses

  • Crossing Chelion Glacier: Experience a self-guided glacier crossing after stopping in at Cabane Des Dix to plot your path and enjoy some food on their patio

  • Cabane de Moiry: Spend a night at the modern Cabane next to Moiry Glacier with a huge glass facade in the dining room to enjoy the spectacular view

  • Europaweg Trail: A high alpine balcony trail running up the Mattertal Valley to the Haute Route finish line, which includes the world's longest suspension bridge.
